Synthetic esters vs. mineral oils: The Performance Differences of high-temperature chain oils

Mineral oil high-temperature chain oil

Mineral oils have complex molecular structures and significant differences between their light and heavy components. Under operating conditions above 180–220℃, they are prone to thermal cracking and oxidation, leading to rapid oil aging. High temperatures easily produce carbon deposits, sludge, and coke buildup. Common problems include chain jamming, guide rail contamination, and frequent cleaning and maintenance.

Synthetic ester high-temperature chain oil

Synthetic esters offer greater designability in molecular structure and exhibit significantly better thermal stability than mineral oils, allowing for long-term stable operation at temperatures ranging from 240300℃ or even higher. Synthetic esters also feature lower carbon residue, better thermal oxidative cleaning properties, and are less prone to coking and oil residue buildup.
