The advantages of synthetic gear oil at high temperatures
Higher thermal stability: Synthetic base oils (such as PAO, esters) are more resistant to high-temperature degradation than mineral oils.
Excellent oxidation resistance: Reduces the formation of sludge and deposits, and extends the oil change cycle.
Good low-temperature fluidity: Maintains lubrication even under extreme temperature differences.
Reduces friction and wear: Contains high-performance additives to protect the gear surface
Match the viscosity grade according to the temperature range
Medium and high temperature (80-130℃) : Select the ISO VG 150-220 viscosity grade, such as PAO base oil + additive formula.
High temperature (130-180 ℃) : priority choose esters or polyether kind of synthetic oil, viscosity grade ISO VG 320-460, make sure the oil film strength.
High-temperature environments are prone to cause micro-pitting and corrosion on the metal surface of gears. Synthetic gear oil is usually compounded with sulfur-phosphorus type extreme pressure and anti-wear agents (such as zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate) and rust inhibitors to form a chemical reaction film on the gear contact surface, which can withstand a contact pressure of up to 2000MPa, while resisting the erosion of acidic substances and extending the service life of the equipment.
In high-temperature industrial scenarios, synthetic gear oil has solved the bottleneck problems of traditional lubrication through chemical structure innovation and formula optimization. When selecting models, enterprises need to combine the working conditions of the equipment, environmental protection requirements and maintenance costs. They should give priority to choosing products that have passed international standard certifications such as AGMA 9005-E02 and ISO 12925-1.
