The role of lubricating oil additives in lubricating oil
Antioxidant and anti-aging effect: delay the oxidation of lubricating oil under high temperature and oxygen process, prevent oil sludge and carbon deposition.
Cleaning and dispersing cleaner: the neutralization of acidic substances (such as sulfuric acid), to prevent the metal parts corrosion (Common calcium/magnesium sulfonates).
Antiwear and extreme pressure protection anti-wear agent: form a protective film on metal surface to reduce friction and wear (e.g., ZDDP, dialkyl disulfide generation zinc phosphate)
Viscosity adjusting viscosity index improver: make the lubricating oil in different temperature stable viscosity (e.g., poly (methyl acrylate).
Flow and flow to improve fall coagulant: inhibition of wax crystal formation under low temperature, to ensure that cold start liquidity (e.g., poly alpha olefin).
Friction adjust anti-friction: reduce the friction when boundary lubrication, such as molybdenum compounds, organic esters), improve fuel economy.
The synergistic effect of additive packages
Engine oil: Focuses on anti-oxidation, cleaning (preventing carbon deposits), and anti-wear (protecting camshafts, etc.).
Gear oil: improved extreme pressure antiwear (shear) response to high load.
Hydraulic oil: Emphasizes anti-oxidation and anti-foaming (maintaining system stability).
