Unveiling the outstanding thermal oxidation stability of synthetic ester lubricating oil

The molecular structure of synthetic esters determines their stability. Synthetic ester lubricating oil is an artificial base oil synthesized through the reaction of alcohols with organic acids. Common types include: diester, polyol ester and aromatic ester.

Compared with mineral oil or other synthetic oils (such as PAO), synthetic esters have the following molecular structure advantages:

Strong polarity: Helps form a stable oil film on the metal surface.

Structural rules: Weak intermolecular forces and low volatility.

Oxygen containing functional groups: to improve oxidation resistance, reduce the risk of harmful by-products generated.

These properties make synthetic esters less prone to chain oxidation reactions at high temperatures, thus endowing them with excellent thermal oxidation stability.
