As a lipophilic skeleton for dispersants

The PIB chain segments provide excellent oil solubility, making the dispersant molecules highly compatible with lubricating oil. At low temperatures, the softness of the PIB chain helps maintain the fluidity of the dispersant, making it less likely to crystallize or precipitate.

Provide molecular weight adjustability

Low molecular weight PIB (Mn 900-1300) : Good low-temperature performance, suitable for low-temperature engine oil; High molecular weight PIB (Mn 2300-2500) : Strong dispersion power, suitable for heavy-duty diesel engine oil.

Enhance the suspension stability of soot and oil sludge

The hydrophobicity of the PIB chain separates the non-polar oil phase from the impurity particles wrapped by polar groups, preventing them from re-aggregating and depositating.

Reduce ash content

Since PIB itself does not contain metal elements, the dispersant formulated is ashless. After combustion, it will not generate metal ash and will not cause damage to the three-way catalytic converter and DPF.
