Preparation of Ester Oil

The preparation of ester oil involves three steps: esterification, neutralization and filtration.

Monoesters are prepared by the reaction of monohydric acids (such as oleic acid and stearic acid) with monohydric alcohols (usually 8-13-carbon alcohols); Diesters are prepared by the reaction of linear dibasic acids with branched-chain monohydric alcohols; Polyol esters are prepared by the reaction of polyols (such as neopentanol, trimethylolpropane, pentaerythritol or dipentaerythritol) with monoprotic acids (generally C,~ C-acid); Complex polyol esters are low-molecular-weight polymers made from polyols such as neopentanol (NPG), trimethylolpropane (TMP), or pentaerythritol (PE) and diesters with acid or alcohol at the endPolyester is a copolymer formed by the esterification of α-olefins and maleic acid or fumaric acid with short-chain or medium-long-chain alcohols. After the ester is formed, the unreacted acid is neutralized with sodium carbonate or calcium hydroxide and then filtered out.
