These characteristics make synthetic esters a good choice for the manufacture of high temperature greases. In high temperature equipment, the evaporation loss of the base oil of the grease at high temperature has a great impact on the lubrication effect. If the evaporation loss is too high, the grease will dry out and the equipment cannot be lubricated normally.
Secondly, the synthetic ester has excellent thermal stability and antioxidant properties. In a high temperature environment, ordinary mineral oil is easy to oxidize to produce colloidal and asphaltene and other sediments, which will block the transmission pipeline and lubrication points, resulting in equipment can not be well lubricated, and may even appear dry friction and bearing lock and other serious consequences. In contrast, the thermal decomposition starting temperature of synthetic ester is as high as 380 ° C, which can effectively resist high temperature oxidation and maintain lubrication effect.
In addition, the synthetic ester performs well under certain conditions. For example, in the oil and gas lubrication system of continuous casting machines in the metallurgical industry, the synthetic ester can maintain a stable oil film thickness to ensure lubrication. This stability makes the synthetic ester perform well in high temperature, high speed and heavy load environments, and is suitable for high temperature components such as rolls and bearings in continuous casting units.
