Detailed Explanation of the Thermal Oxidation Stability of PAO Base Oil
PAO (polyalpha-olefin) base oil has become the first choice for high-end lubricating oil formulations due to its excellent thermal stability and antioxidant performance. Compared with traditional mineral base oils, PAO is less likely to decompose and deposit at high temperatures, which can significantly reduce the formation of sludge and viscosity changes, extend the oil change cycle, and improve the cleanliness of the engine.
Why is the thermal oxidation stability of PAO so excellent?
Stable molecular structure : PAO is artificially synthesized, with neatly arranged molecules and no unsaturated bonds. Its antioxidant capacity far exceeds that of mineral oil and maintains stable performance even at high temperatures (150℃+).
Low volatility, reducing oil loss :PAO has extremely low evaporation loss and is not prone to volatilization at high temperatures, ensuring the long-term efficient operation of the lubrication system and reducing the frequency of oil replenishment.
