Viscosity Index Improvers

Viscosity index improvers are an important additive in lubricating oils, used to improve the viscosity-temperature characteristics of the oil products, enabling them to maintain sufficient viscosity at high temperatures (to prevent insufficient lubrication) and good fluidity at low temperatures (to facilitate cold starts).

Viscosity index (VI) : An indicator that measures the change in viscosity of lubricating oil with temperature. The higher the VI, the less the viscosity is affected by temperature.

The function of VII: by stretching of polymer in the oil (high temperature) and contract (low temperature), adjust oil viscosity, make it adapt to the wide temperature range.

Core Function

Increase the viscosity index (VI) : Ensure that the lubricating oil maintains stable lubrication performance at both high and low temperatures.

Improve high-temperature viscosity: Prevent oil film rupture and reduce engine wear. Optimize low-temperature fluidity: Reduce cold start resistance and save fuel.

Shear stability (Part VII) : Prevents viscosity decrease caused by mechanical shear.
