PMA Viscosity Index Improver
PMA(polymethyl methacrylate) viscosity index improver is a type of high-molecular compound polymerized from methacrylate monomers. It is widely used in lubricating oils, fuel oils and industrial processing agents, mainly as a viscosity index improver (VII) and low-temperature flow improver.
The main chain is polymethacrylate, and the side chains can contain alkyl groups of different carbon numbers (such as C12-C18), which endows it with excellent oil solubility and shear stability.
Enhance high-temperature viscosity: At high temperatures, molecular chains stretch, increasing the thickness of the oil film and reducing wear. To avoid low temperature thickening: low molecular shrinkage, to maintain liquidity, ensure the cold start lubrication. Some modified PMA has the ability of dispersed soot and sediment, auxiliary maintain engine cleanliness (such as high-end compound recipe).
