Diisooctyl Adipate

Diisooctyl adipate (DOA), a key component of synthetic esters, plays a dual role in lubricant systems thanks to its three core characteristics: strong low-temperature adaptability, excellent chemical stability, and good environmental compatibility. It serves as both a functional additive to enhance the overall performance of oils and a high-quality base oil component for synthetic lubricants, perfectly meeting the core demands of modern lubrication technology for "high efficiency, environmental friendliness, and wide temperature range."

DOA's Core Performance Advantages: Solving Three Key Pain Points in the Lubricant Industry

Extreme Low-Temperature Flow, Overcoming Environmental Limitations:

With an ultra-low pour point of -53, DOA can significantly reduce the pour point of lubricating oils (by 10-20℃ when added at 5%-15%), ensuring rapid oil circulation and lubrication in extremely cold regions (such as cold-weather outdoor machinery and polar transport vehicles) or low-temperature start-up scenarios, avoiding "cold start wear." When used in aviation lubricating greases, it maintains oil film integrity even in high-altitude environments of -40°C, ensuring the normal operation of critical engine components.

Excellent oxidation resistance and stability extend oil life:

The unique reactive properties of tertiary carbon atoms in its molecular structure endow DOA with excellent thermal oxidation stability. Accelerated aging tests have verified that lubricating oils with added DOA show a 40% reduction in acid value growth rate and viscosity change controlled within 15% at 200°C, effectively reducing sludge and carbon deposit formation and extending oil change intervals by 30%-50%. When used in combination with the amine-based antioxidant T558, it also produces a synergistic effect, further enhancing high-temperature oxidation resistance, making it suitable for high-temperature applications such as engines and industrial gears.

Excellent compatibility and solubility, optimizing formulation performance:

As a polar ester compound, DOA exhibits excellent compatibility with synthetic base oils such as polyalphaolefins (PAO) and polyol esters. Simultaneously, it significantly improves the solubility of additives such as anti-wear agents and detergents in lubricating oils, preventing additive precipitation and ensuring uniform and stable oil performance. In synthetic air compressor oils, DOA effectively mitigates the shrinkage effect of PAO oil on rubber seals, extending seal life and reducing equipment leakage risk.
